Reminder: Required Permits for Electrical and Construction Work
As remediation work continues, we wanted to remind you of the permitting process and reiterate that two types of expedited permits must be applied for in each space as we collectively work toward restoration:
Electrical Permit – a ‘Trade Work Only’ permit for restoring power
Commercial Permit – for restorative construction work
Details on the steps required for these permit applications can be found in Items #3 and #4 of the Tenant Checklist page.

Reminder: Please Provide Your Insurance Carrier Info
If you have not already done so, this is a reminder to please provide the following insurance details to the Kite team by emailing them to eastgate@kiterealty.com:
Your Insurance Carrier
Your Claim Number
Your Adjuster’s Name and Contact Information
This information will help ensure mutual coordination, proper documentation, and efficiency between insurance adjusters and providers

Individual Health & Safety Reports to be Delivered
Our environmental health and safety consulting firm, Hillmann, is nearing the completion of their evaluations of each tenant space.
You can expect to receive an individualized report outlining their health and safety findings for your space by end of day tomorrow (7/15).
The findings of these reports will be critical in ensuring regulatory compliance, occupant health, and overall workplace safety as we all move toward re-opening.

Update: Temporary Generators Delivered
The temporary generators were delivered to Eastgate Crossing on Sunday.
Every tenant space has a spider box for power access.

Temporary Generators Ordered
To expedite power access for remediation and repair, Kite has ordered multiple generators to Eastgate Crossing for all tenants to access and use.
Please note that these generators will not enable businesses to open and operate, but they will power essential equipment (dehumidifiers, lights, air scrubbers, air movers, and more) to help prevent mold growth from excess moisture.

IMPORTANT: Individual Space Power & Permits
While work is underway to bring primary power to the center, there are important steps you can proactively take to ensure your individual space is ready for reconnection:
If flood water reached the electrical outlets in your space, you will need to apply for an individual ‘Trade Work Only Permit’ to proceed with electrical power restoration in your space.
You must visit the Town of Chapel Hill’s ‘Online Permit Portal’ website here: Chapel Hill Online Permit Portal

Electrical Permitting Update
Chapel Hill has provided a Business Re-Opening Guide to help expedite the permitting process.
Two key points regarding the Business Re-Opening Guide:
As water levels reached electrical outlets in most spaces, the majority of Eastgate Crossing businesses fall into the second category outlined in the attached Guide.
After clicking on the 'Online Permit Portal' in the second category of the attached, you may select 'Trade Work Only Permit' to apply for an expedited permit focused solely on electrical work. Be sure to include "FLOOD" in your permit description so it receives priority.

Health & Safety Consultant and 3D Space Photography
Two new updates:
We have engaged Hillmann - an environmental health, safety, and construction consulting firm - to assess every space across the center. Their work is a critical step toward ensuring regulatory compliance, occupant health, and overall workplace safety as we move toward reopening. The Hillmann team is anticipated to be on-site today though midday Saturday.
Bluesky will be visiting each business to capture detailed 3D imaging of your space using Matterport imaging technology. This process will generate precise digital records that are highly valuable for documentation, insurance, and recovery planning. Once your space has been photographed, we will share the files with you directly.
